Must I delete the current version of birdJam Maker before downloading a new upgrade?

On Windows, yes, you must first delete the version that is installed on your computer, and then download and install the latest version from www.birdjam.com/upgrade. 

Note that whenever you open birdJam Maker, it will automatically check to see whether there is a newer version available for download.
