I have a pre-loaded birdJam iPod and want to add music (the human kind) to my iPod; how do I do that?Location: adding music to your ipod + faq + syncing your ipod + using itunes + using your ipodThis is a situation where you could potentially wipe out the birdJam bird songs, so be deliberate in your actions. Note that if you should accidentally delete your bird songs and have difficulty restoring them to your iPod, you can always send your iPod to us for reloading! That being said, the easiest way to add music to your iPod is "Manually." To get started adding your own music, first upload your music CDs into iTunes. We suggest that you create a playlist entitled "Music" or any other name that you choose. Drag and drop all the music that you want added to your iPod into your playlist. Then, with iTunes open, plug your iPod into your computer. We pre-set all iPods to "Manual" mode prior to shipping them. After a moment, iTunes should see your iPod and will list it under Devices in the left-hand column. If you haven't changed the name of your iPod, it will be named "birdJam." Now, drag and drop your new music playlist onto your birdJam iPod and iTunes will start syncing the new playlist songs without deleting the existing birdJam playlists. Once the download is complete, click the Eject icon next to birdJam under Devices, unplug your iPod and go. Just be careful not to agree to have iTunes erase and sync your birdJam iPod or you could lose all the bird songs that we loaded for you. The other option is to go through the complete birdJam Maker installation process so that you can automatically sync your iPod, using iTunes. Syncing options are discussed in the iPod features guide at www.apple.com/support, and we also discuss them in our step-by-step installation instructions accessible via the Help Menu in birdJam Maker. |
